“The sun lives in the heavens where God placed it and moves out across the skies…..as joyous as an athlete looking forward to a race!” Psalm 19:4&5

Principals Corner
A race you won’t see in the Olympics is the Klondike Outhouse Race.  Crazy out houses of all kinds on wheels race the 1.5-mile course through Dawson, Yukon Territory.  The winners will be announced at “Diamond Tooth Gertie’s Gambling Hall.”

Not to be out done, Nome, Alaska, conducts the Great Bathtub Race every Labor Day.  Five-member teams race tubs, mounted on wheels, down Front Street.  One of the team rides in a tub of water (with bubbles).  The other four must wear large-brimmed hats and pants with suspenders, and carry a bar of soap, washcloth, towel, or bath mat for the entire race.  The winning trophy is a statue of Miss Piggy and Kermit taking a bath.

These athletes anticipate their big contests with excitement.  But their joy is nowhere near what true Olympians feel as they race for a gold medal.  All the preparation, work, and struggle to reach the moment they represent their country before the entire world is suddenly worth it. Ah, what a moment!

“The sun lives in the heavens where God placed it and moves out across the skies…..as joyous as an athlete looking forward to a race!” Psalm 19:4&5

A poetic verse, isn’t it?  Describing the sun as a joyous athlete before a race?  Scripture says all creation praises the Creator.  Are you praising your Creator as you go through your day with Him.
