“I look up at Your macro-skies, dark and enormous, Your hand-made sky-jewelry, moon and stars mounted in their settings. Then I look at my micro-self and wonder, “Why do You bother with us?” “Why take a second look our way?” Psalm 8:3,4 Message
Principals Corner
“Macro-skies,” dark and enormous, “Sky-jewelry.” I can see a whole lot more through a modern-day telescope than David, the shepherd boy, saw, sitting on a grassy hillside. I wonder if David wondered, as I do, what it might be like to fly among the stars. The magic of the night sky has fascinated such scientists as Copernicus and Galileo, and the not-so-scientific space buffs like me. The air is so clear during these spring nights that it seems I could catch a star in my hands like a lightning bug, perhaps put it in a jar to study later.
Of course, I know that many stars, planets, and suns are bigger than our earth. And while astronauts may fly to distant planets, I, like David, will have to be content to enjoy them from a distance.
And like David, I marvel at their magnitude and wonder why God takes the time to care for one like me on Planet Earth. He loves me; that’s why, just as He loves you. His love stretches beyond the farthest outback of the universe to Calvary.
Mr. Acker
Parents, please try to have your child to school by 8:00 each morning. I know that it is hard to get the children to bed with the sun shining later and later. Mrs. Braman and I are concerned with the numbers of students coming in late each day. Thank you for your help in getting you child to school with lots of sleep and a good breakfast.
