“This is how much God loved the world: He gave His Son, His one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in Him, anyone can have whole and lasting life.” John 3:16

Principal’s Corner
The parents of 3-year-old Erin give Christian concerts around the world.  Before a concert Erin’s mother took the girl for a walk to occupy her attention.  In the church’s entry way Erin spotted a full-size, carved, wooden statue of Jesus hanging on the cross.
“That’s Jesus, isn’t it, Mommy?” she asked.
“Yes, honey.”
Barely coming to the statue’s knees, tiny Erin asked to be lifted for a better view.  Her mother obliged.  Gently Erin touched the carved fingers and hands.  Her fingers touched the nails protruding from His hands.  “That hurt Jesus, didn’t it, Mommy?”
“Yes, it did, honey.”
The child studied the nails and hands.  “Jesus hurt for me, didn’t He?  He loves me that much!”
Out of the mouth of babies.  Why did Jesus allow the demons of hell to put Him on a cross? Love. He loves us so much that He’d rather die than lose us.
Can I understand that love?  Can you?  You and I will spend all of eternity and still not uncover the mystery of God’s love.  And yet even a 3-year-old can understand enough to accept God’s love and His sacrifice.
