“The only obligation you have is to love one another.  Whoever does this has obeyed the Law” Romans 13:8

Principal’s Corner
I was asked not to long ago, “Why are you a teacher?” Well to answer that question I would have to say that, I love the students and I pray that with the help of the Lord they will be led to a closer relationship with their Lord. Preparing citizens for Heaven is my goal. I came across this story that helps to answer the question, “Why I am a teacher”.
A sociology class at Johns Hopkins University made a scientific study in one of the worst slums in Baltimore. Tabulations were made on cards, 200 of which were marked “headed for jail”, along with the children’s names, background, and prospects toward a life of crime. Twenty-five years later another class found the cards and decided to check out the results. Only two persons on the cards marked “headed for jail” had gone to jail. How could the other class have been so wrong? They discovered the question to ask wasn’t how, but who? The answer was Aunt Hannah, a school teacher. Wherever the interviewers went, they found that something from the vigorous faith of this woman had rubbed off on her charges. Aunt Hannah’s alumni include some of the most service-minded doctors, Lawyers, preachers, and prominent business people in the Baltimore area. The college survey team visited Aunt Hannah in a local nursing home to report to her their findings. She had little to say, except, “I just loved them as if they were my own boys and girls.” Do you have an Aunt Hannah in your life?  Someone who encourages you to do your best and do what’s right?  Or have you ever had an Aunt Hannah in your life that you can say that that person changed your life?
Mr. Acker
A BIG THANK YOU FROM MR. ACKER
Students, thank you for all the hard work that you did for the Christmas program on Thursday. I was very proud of you as I watched. You were a blessing to all that were there. I thank God that you as His students can witness for Him in word and music. I believe that you are the best students in the Rocky Mountain Conference and you are a blessing to me. Again, thank you for all of your hard work. Parents, thank you for all the work that you do for our children and supporting them here at HMS.  You are an important part of our team as we guild your children. It was good to see each of you and talk to you on Thursday night.
Thank you, Home and School leader, Michelle Watts, for supplying the refreshments on Thursday night. The Home and School committee has been working very hard this year.
