“Know the Lord: for all shall know Me, from the least to the greatest” Hebrews 8:11
Principal’s Corner
I would like to welcome you all back from Thanksgiving break. I hope that you all had a good time visiting with friends and family and just relaxing before the Christmas rush. As the Christmas season is approaching I hope that we can learn more about our Leader. I found some interesting facts about some of our country leaders: George Washington turned down the opportunity to be crowned king of the United States. Andrew Jackson, the seventh president, killed a man while defending his wife’s honor in a duel. James Buchanan, the fifteenth president, was proud of his tiny feet. Abraham Lincoln stored letter, bills, and notes inside his stovepipe hat. Ulysses S. Grant, our eighteenth president, had his name changed from Hiram Ulysses Grant because he didn’t like his monogram, HUG.
Our twentieth president, James Garfield, liked to show off by writing Greek with one hand and Latin with the other-at the same time. William Taft weighed more than 300 pounds and had an oversized bathtub installed in the White House. Our twenty-eighth president, Woodrow Wilson, grazed sheep on the White House lawn. Gerald Ford turned down offers to play professional football with both the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions. And Ronald Reagan, fortieth president, rescued 77 people from drowning as a young lifeguard in Illinois.
As interesting as these facts might be, to know that Jesus is our Lord and Savior and that He has given His all for us, should lead us to know Him better.
I hope and pray that we can spend time each day learning more about Him and becoming more like Him.
Mr. Acker

~ We still have about 17 e-books left from our fundraiser. These would make good Christmas gifts for those hard-to-buy-for people on your list - mail carriers, newspaper delivery people, hair stylist, etc. Contact Mrs. Shockley or Yvonne for your books!!!
~ Angel costumes for our Christmas program have been generously and lovingly made by several devoted Home & School ladies. Thank you, thank you! You are angels!!! If you would like to add to your child’s costume, a piece of gold or silver cording around the waist, or something of that nature, would be nice. We are not having wings or halos as that will cause space and visual problems on stage.
~ “Many hands make light work!!” If you would like to help decorate the stage for the Christmas program, please contact Mrs. Shockley at H.M.S. or 613-9962. Thank you!!!
